Extensions are an investment — here's how to make them last 12-18 months with the right washing, brushing and sleeping routine.
Your hair extensions are made from 100% human virgin remy hair, and like your own hair, they need proper care to stay soft, shiny and tangle-free. With the right routine, quality extensions can last 12–18 months or even longer.
Wash extensions gently, no more than once or twice a week. Before washing, brush the hair thoroughly with a wide-tooth comb, working from the ends up to the bonds or wefts. Wet the hair, apply a sulfate-free shampoo along the length — never at the bonds — and rinse with cool water. Follow with a lightweight conditioner, avoiding the roots, and rinse well.
When drying, never rub the hair with a towel. Instead, pat gently and allow it to air dry whenever possible. If you use a blow dryer, use low heat and always finish with a heat-protectant spray. High heat is the number one enemy of extension longevity — it strips the cuticle and causes dryness and frizz.
Brush your extensions two to three times a day with a soft bristle or wide-tooth comb. Always hold the hair at the roots with one hand while brushing with the other, so you don't pull on the bonds, wefts or clips. Start at the ends and work upward in small sections.
At night, tie your hair in a loose braid or ponytail before bed, and consider sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase. This reduces friction, prevents tangling and keeps the cuticle smooth. Never go to bed with wet extensions — damp hair is at its most fragile.
With consistent care, your extensions will continue to look natural and luxurious for well over a year. If you have questions about your specific set, our team is always happy to help via WhatsApp or email.
